Ingredients
Method
- Simmer: In a large pot on the stovetop, combine 1 Gallon of water with your entire 16 oz pouch of Spice Sparrow Turkey Brine Seasoning.
- Dissolve and Bloom: Gently heat the mixture to dissolve the large coarse sea salt crystals and allow the whole aromatics, like the peppercorns, allspice berries, cloves, and bay leaves, to fully bloom.
- Cool: Remove the pot from the heat and pour in the remaining cold water or broth to bring the brine down to room temperature. Never pour hot brine over raw poultry.
- Brine: Submerge your turkey in the cooled liquid, cover securely, and refrigerate for 12 to 24 hours.
- Roast: Remove the turkey from the brine, pat it completely dry, and roast until golden-brown. Or fry in a turkey frier.
Notes
Pro Tip: To save on fridge space during brining store the turkey in cooler with ice for 12 to 24 hours. Make sure you check the cooler incase you need to add more ice.
Alternative Poultry: This savory seasonal workhorse is also incredible for brining whole roasting chickens or thick-cut pork chops.
